This colorful program brings together a diverse range of works for violin and piano, featuring elements from dance, song, salon, and folk idioms and celebrating the musical traditions of Spain, Romania, France, and America.
The Dolphins Quartet is a string quartet and composer collective dedicated to uniting spirits through musical interpretation, innovation, and improvisation. Based in New York City and formed at The Juilliard School, the Dolphins strive to make chamber music vibrant, relevant, personal, and reflective of our time. Their programs regularly feature works from the classical canon alongside underappreciated gems and original compositions.
The Duo Ex Machina, saxophonist Randal Despommier and pianist Jason Yeager, reunites at Piano on Park on March 1st for Cosmic Sketches, a concert honoring the centennials of Miles Davis and John Coltrane. Han Chen has emerged among the new generation of concert pianists as a uniquely fearless performer in a wide variety of musical settings. His program includes the world premier of the piece A Book of Time I which has the audience listen to how the earth's minerals sing. Composed by Lei Liang using X-ray fluorescence analysis of minerals to trace their elemental peaks, the data points were transformed through software into musical harmonies.
The Yoon Sun Choi - Jacob Sacks Duo has been at the exploratory forefront of jazz and improvised voice and piano duet for 25 years. The Duo is excited to announce their newest album, Memory Ghosts, which explores new original material along with interpretations of works by Annette Peacock and Randy Newman.

Piano on Park offers an intimate and refreshing way to experience live music. The house concert series was launched when pianist Cyrus von Hochstetter opened the doors of his NYC apartment to host regular performances by soloists, chamber ensembles and small bands of all musical styles and colors.
