Prepare to embark on a musical voyage that spans centuries and continents in an extraordinary piano recital featuring Chloe Chuyue Zhang. Chloe’s virtuosity knows no bounds as she embarks on a journey through the classical repertoire, starting with Haydn’s exquisite Piano Sonata in D major, Hob. XVI:42. This delightful work showcases the composer’s signature classical style and sets the stage for a captivating evening.

Immerse yourself in the evocative landscapes of Tchaikovsky’s The Seasons, a breathtaking voyage through the changing moods of nature and the human soul. Chloe’s interpretation of this masterpiece will transport you from the warmth of spring to the depths of winter, all through the power of her artistry.

But the adventure doesn’t end there. Chloe’s program also includes Zhang Zhao’s Pi Huang (Moments from Beijing Opera), a perfect fusion of Eastern and Western musical languages in a contemporary context. Through this piece, Chloe paints a mesmerizing tapestry of sounds inspired by traditional Chinese opera, employing the piano to remarkable effect. The use of Banshi, a traditional Chinese opera structure signifying tempo, characters, emotions, and beats, adds depth and authenticity, evoking a rich array of emotions inspired by classic plays.

Chloe then delves into the captivating world of two of Liszt’s most intricate etudes: Transcendental Etude No.9 (Ricordanza); and Paganini Etude No.6; These compositions are remarkable in their own right, each possessing a unique character and complexity. Liszt’s Transcendental Etude No.9 presents a formidable challenge with its intricate passages and demands for technical precision, while Paganini Etude No.6 captivates with its virtuosic brilliance and dramatic flair.

We invite you to join us for this exceptional musical experience as Chloe Chuyue Zhang guides you through a diverse repertoire that spans centuries, styles, and emotions. Her recital promises a captivating exploration of the piano’s limitless possibilities.
